Off of the County site (shapethefuture.org -- don't ask), these are probably final results. If not, it's +/- 1 or 2% and won't matter. In D2, where turnout was only 47%

Desiree Thayer 843 (for the win with 50.94%)
Nirmala Bandrapalli 375
Rachel Ni 257
Hadia Khoury 180

Turnout was below expectations for a presidential election year, but the four candidates' totals were more skewed than might be expected, allowing 843 votes to get a council seat.

In D4:

Donna Colson 1,218 (for the win with 77.33%)
Tony Paul 357

There are still a number of ballots to be counted--anything mailed in the last four pre-election days or dropped off at the ballot boxes. I'll wait for final counts and post them here.

Paloma Ave

A message to the newly elected and current city council members.

Here are some of my views of your duties, as a 42 year resident of the City of Burlingame.

1) We are a suburb! This is not an urban city. We do not want pack and stack housing. No one is going to a grocery store or doctor's appointment using public transportation, we will be driving our cars.

2) You are not here to implement YOUR ideas! You are here to represent what the citizens of Burlingame want.

3) We want the potholes filled in.

4) What we don't want? Do NOT ban anything that is legal to own! Your job isn't limiting our choices.

5) Please be aware that you CANNOT change the climate! Spend your time focusing on ways to adapt to the changes in our climate.

As of tonight, the 2:1 Thayer lead over Bandrapalli is holding up: 1233:604. This one is all over.

Colson gets about 80% as expected. Final results may still take awhile, but the singer is warming up her vocal cords.
