We have Elon Musk to thank for the moniker-of-the-year which is Woke Mind Virus. It's simple to understand, widely applicable these days and gets the point across very efficiently. It immediately came to my mind when I read the city e-newsletter announcement
CIty Hall Holiday Closure
CIty Hall will be closed Monday, October 14th, in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day.
It will reopen on Tuesday, October 15th, for normal operating hours.
Yeah, no, sorry. The second Monday in October is Columbus Day. Here is some background that I provided four years ago when South San Francisco abolished Columbus Day. It bears rereading for those with the Woke Mind Virus in B'game.
If we need an Indigenous Peoples' Day, then we should find another day. How about June 26th--Custer's Last Stand at The Little Bighorn?
lol. turn off fox news for a moment or two and just breathe.

I think we should have all our holidays on one day maybe in July?
And everyone celebrate that day and their birthday all at once and then get back to work.

Let’s call it October Italian American month and we celebrate Columbus on our own.

June 26th works well. It will give everyone a chance to warm up their barbeques for the Fourth by grilling the Aztec human sacrifices. Auntie, how about a leg bone with Ancho chili powder?

A song we sang on bus trips with the speech and debate team in high school (Mrs. Gartner was quite laissez faire in her advisor/chaperone duties): https://youtu.be/XHB-mNyS8YI?si=UGh5g-UG0eNMaCT2

I just read in John Horgan’s column that the school tax GG “can be increased or decreased, depending on fiscal circumstances.”
Can this be true!?

I wish I could upvote @seriously and @sheesh
Please spare us a rant about "Happy Holidays" this year. It's so old, tired, and grumpy.
