Last Fall's treehugger post came from the historic Baywood district of San Mateo. This year we get right back to the historic Burlingame Park district--home of the Voice! I'm told this is a Chinese Fringe tree and it's awesome. It turns out it is really a flowering shrub with the official name Chionanthus retusus according to Wikipedia.
I love how the leaves turn in phases and the phases don't always seem to align with more (or less) sun exposure. The backside is still shades of green, but others I see in the 'hood are green on the sunny side. The blood red tree behind the Chinese fringe makes a gorgeous pairing. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
Is that a limo out front?

Whatever kind of tree that is, "I LOVE IT."
Which brings me to the Topic of Homelessness. Hang on Joe...
A City in Lakewood, New Jersey recently removed a "Bunch of Trees" @ their Civic Center in order to not provide any "Shelter" from "ordinary" environmental events. Sun, Snow, Rain, Wind, etc. They "Cut Down" all the trees to keep the homeless out of "Town."
Where are all the "Homeless People "living" in Burlingame, CA?

Chinese Pistash? Very Beautiful Tree. The City of Burlingame was very 'Forward Thinking" regarding how to develop a "Wind Swept" piece of "Bayside Land" into the beautiful place we have now. I bet Dollars to Donuts there is NOT a better Urban Forest in the US. Merry Christmas Joe. Everyone Else Too. Where is "Hillsider?Happy New Year to all my friends...Well maybe my One Friend.
