Just the other day I was thinking what downtown needs is more salons. Right on schedule, Sola appears to be ready for business on Primrose. The new Dr. Treats veterinarian next door is still papered over but I have seen work taking place there--and there is certainly demand for more vets in town. As far as salons go, I do like the name of the one across the street from Sola. I had not noticed it before, but it's called Skin Laundry.

I had to laugh when I saw this -- earlier this year I was in Tampere, Finland (beautiful city set between two lakes with a river running through it). A local asked me what I thought of their fair city. I exclaimed over its natural beauty, and the interesting culture and history (formerly the "Manchester of Finland," it's now the country's tech center). And then I said, "This may sound weird, but walking around town, I have never seen so many hair salons so close together. You could throw a rock in any direction and hit a hair salon. What's up with that?" Tampere and Burlingame -- sister cities when it comes to salons. Who knew!

Seems to be an abundance of salons, skin care and bakeries. We need more diversity of shops.

Might correlate to the number of “bed heads” and “cowlicks” I see at morning mass?

Do the People of Burlingame still go to Catholic Church?

There's a Skin Bar on Broadway next to A&A. It sounds like more fun than Skin Laundry.
Why don't you go and find out holly?
