I was taken by surprise on my dog walk this week. I usually go a bit further than Costa Rica Ave., but with the rain and all we cut it short. I saw the dumpster first and thought it might be a clean up. But alas, this delightful house got scraped. I'm gonna miss this one. Luckily Google Maps still had a street view photo of it, but it will live on here at the Voice much, much longer than on Google..............
You have to wonder why the Burlingame Office of Perpetual Sustainability doesn't step in here over these tear downs. The landfill impact of a whole house makes a couple of gas stoves look like mice nuts. Palo Alto makes them salvage the windows and doors and the metals.

This seems to be very common in Burlingame more than any other Peninsula city. The more expensive the neighborhood the more likely you will see this happen.
My parents and grandparents would be rolling over in their graves seeing a perfectly good house get destroyed but it seems people with cash to burn have no problem. The hypocrisy is dishonest.
