The city e-newsletter has music to my ears with the announcement of this year's new Music in the Park series. The big change is a move to Friday nights from 6-8pm (5pm check-ins) and
Registration is $5 per person. Registration must be made in advance. Only one registration is required per group. Registration provides a dedicated space for you and your group.
I envision chalk line circles for each pod and people making more of a night out effort with more food and drink. I'm not sure what the rules will be about alcohol in the park. It has traditionally been OK in San Mateo's Central Park series, but B'game can be more strict sometimes. Here is the line-up
June 18 - The Sun Kings (Beatles Tribute)
July 9 - The Houserockers (Rock & Soul)
July 23 - New American Villains (Modern & Classic Rock)
August 13 - Pride & Joy (R & B & Soul)
I've seen all of these bands at least once, but I'm still excited. Keep an eye on www.burlingame.org/rec for more info. Here is a past Sun Kings show.
Why did they start charging? is it to cover covid protocols? Loved it when it was free on a Sunday afternoon. I hope it is not windy on event nights.

I'm not sure about the fee. Probably some nominal amount to cover record keeping and check-in costs. If 50 pods show up, that's still only $250, but don't suggest it should be higher.
And yes, 6pm to 8pm in Washington Park can be windy--just ask anyone who has played outfield for the Panthers.

I think charging $5 a head is a great idea... It keeps the riff raff out... also keeps out lots of the people who just talk over the music and aren't there for the performance.

The location changed due to construction and covid. They can space groups further apart and the field allows for more people. Since everyone needs to register for a spot, a small fee is needed in order for the system to recognize the registration. Friday night was chosen as they were hoping foot traffic would help downtown businesses this year. People picking up food etc.. The Burlingame Park and Rec Foundation will selling individual wine and beer bottles.

It is $5 per group not per head. Really chicken feed. Where is the new location?

Washington Park Baseball Field

Remember:
If you're vaccinated you don't need to worry about gathering indoors or outdoors--no mask, no social distancing. For some reason, the pols and other people in power can't fathom that scientific fact. And if you haven't been vaccinated, good luck with that (not just for Covid, but for all the other viruses you should already be vaccinated against).
2-cents.

So sensible.

Problem being the State of California and the State mask mandate that they require local governments to follow. However this may all change on June 15th when the State opens up. The field may be wide open.

Katelyn Jenner for Governor of California!
If "They" lose, Katelyn Jenner, becomes a City of Burlingame Elder.

HolyRoller - You can't even spell Jenner's first name properly. Ever hear of spellcheck?
