The "Thefts from vehicles" stat for 2020 is a joke.
I personally know of at least ten such events in my Burlingame Park neighborhood alone in 2020.
These police stats are essentially meaningless as most citizens apparently do not even file official reports for these increasing crimes.
The fact that everyone knows that no follow up will occur provides no incentive to even report.


I'll add one more statistic to the list since the daily crimegraphics seem often to include arrests for controlled substances. Checking in with BPD, there were 103 such arrests in 2020 in town--about 2 per week!


There was a rape reported a week ago on the 1700 block of California Dr. No arrest yet.
