It's never wise to express to strangers conspiracy theories, but screw it. Wisdom appears over-rated these days.

Agenda 21. It's real.

I felt quite down last night as we saw what the pandemic has done to Halloween. There were a few small, distanced gathering around but nothing like the joyful trick or treating that usually goes with Halloween. Quite a shame and I hope it only happens once.

Before I type the Saturday update here is a conversation I had with a young couple from Bakersfield. We were standing socially-distanced and masked outside of a store that had a pretty tight occupancy limit, waiting to enter. The young lady asked if this sort of thing was common because in Bakersfield is is "pretty wide open". I asked if people were wearing masks? "Not really that much" was her take on it. I'm not going to hunt down the Bakersfield numbers, but I'll bet they aren't as good as San Mateo County's. This week:

Total Cases: 11,8101 (+439, climbing by 200)

R-eff: 1.03 (up 0.09)

Positivity: 5.4% (down yet another tenth)

Burlingame Cases: 260 (+9 for the week)

Since the start of this 51% of the cases have been identified as being Latinos, but 23% of the deaths are from that group. My take on the higher percentage of White deaths (12% of cases, 48% of deaths) is the age factor in the county.

It's amazing. One week after the election there is a vaccine. Just amazing.
