Joe, we called it the smoke shop as did everyone else, I think the window said Burlingame Smoke Shop. The record store you mention was Record Exchange owned by George, he had four different locations in Burlingame and one in San Mateo over the years. I heard George moved to Costa Rica and has a shop down there. The real old school record shop was Disc n That back in the 70s and first half of the 80s located where Ecco used to be. They had back room behind a curtain where they sold bongs and other sundry items.

Thanks, fred. I knew I could count on you. I only remember two of George's locations--Hatch Ln was my favorite with gorgeous hardwood floors that are still in that little building. The upstairs location above the current UPS store was OK, but not as big or well laid out. I was more of a Rod's Records customer on Laurel Ave. in San Carlos.
