There was too much to do in and around B'game today, but the new Burlingame Dragons managed to draw a great crowd. If I had to guess, I would say they pulled in 800 or more fans with some great promotion that started back in December. The team went all out with a tailgate party on the BHS lawn, plenty of security, a blow-up dragon slide for the kids and enough banners to cover every think but the panther at mid-field.
I only stayed for the first half on this busy Saturday, but we were up 1-0 at that point. The team is 3-1-1 overall and in the hunt for the the Premier Development League (PDL) division championship. There are five home games left at "Dragon Stadium". Rebroadcasts are at www.BAOSN.tv.
Actually, the tail gate party that happens before each home game is in Washington Park and not BHS lawn. The school does not allow alcohol to be served on it's grounds. At the end of the tail gate party the dragon mascot walks down with everyone to the game. It's a fun tail gate party.

Now that I think about it I realize you are correct. It was in the park in front of the bocce courts which were busy as well.

Nobody cares about booze on school grounds? Or nobody cares about soccer? Or bocce? Or nobody cares about anything?

Bruce Dickinson would be remiss if he didn't say someone has been Puffin' the Magic Dragon a little too much, ya know what I mean? Get out there folks, and enjoy Burlingame! I know I do!

Dear Joe,
Would you deny the excitement you experienced kissing, flirting, one beer or joint.. at the very least watching your friends participate on the road to independence?
Under the Grandstands at BHS.
What about personal growth?
Consider the teenagers staying home to play mayhem and murder games on the computer.

We were discussing adults having a tailgate party on the weekend. I'm not sure what you are discussing but it is not the same thing as I am discussing--or rather what lala corrected me about. Please attempt some personal growth in the area of staying on topic.

Nice job, Dragons!
The Burlingame Dragons FC closed their regular season Sunday at Burlingame High School with a dazzling finish, when forward Khalid Arramdani scored in the 86th minute to give the green-and-black the USL PDL Southwest Division championship with a 1-0 win over the San Antonio Misioneros.

Nice run for the hometown Dragons:
The playoff run of Burlingame Dragons came to an end last Friday, as the Seattle Sounders prevailed 1-0 in the Western Conference semifinals at Arizona’s Kino Stadium.

It will be interesting to see where they play next year.

I would say "you saw it here first" except Nick started at Cal, so "you saw it here second:
The San Jose Earthquakes are off a good start to the 2017 MLS season, opening with a pair of home wins.
And in the Quakes’ come-from-behind, 3-2 win over Vancouver last Saturday they can thank a rookie for helping them to the three points. If the name Nick Lima sounds familiar, then you are a fan of the Burlingame Dragons, the Earthquakes’ affiliate in the Premiere Development League. Lima, a defender, spent two seasons with the Dragons in 2015 and 2016 after earning All-Pac-12 honors following his senior year at Cal.
