You never know where you will find fun B'game history. I was searching for some audio equipment info on Audiogon.com and saw a community forum question about a high-end stereo cabinet from the '50s or '60s with a decal titled "Odabash". Someone had purchased it full of old quality gear at an estate sale and wanted to know more about the cabinet. The maker's son, David Odabashian from Sacto, responded about his dad's shop at 1366 N. Carolan, B'game. He wrote
My dad built custom furniture for home and office. He did work for the CA Governor's Office when it was Edmond G. Brown, Bing Crosby's widow, even for Hollywood Studios. His Burlingame shop came along was after he closed his S.F. shop. He was a master cabinet maker, learned from his father from Armenia. We grew up in Millbrae on the Penisula.
So fun. I'm continually amazed at what finds there are locally.
