I really wish that this could be an April Fool's Day post, but unlike my favorite of a couple of years ago, this one is not. The Mercury News/Times article reinforces what we already know from driving around
The Bay Area suffers through some worst traffic jams in the United States, with San Francisco ranking as the second-most congested city in the nation and San Jose pulling down the No. 6 spot in a report released Tuesday.
I could probably find the recent article about how bad our road surfaces are as well, but it's too depressing. I remember moving to the Bay Area in 1981 with my first sports car and marveling at how nice the roads were compared to the East Coast. Things have changed for sure! And $100 billion for high-cost rail will not do a thing to solve congestion or asphalt problems.
Speaking of April Fool's Days past, this one was pretty good too!
