This is very discouraging. As a Cal grad, and one who donates regularly to this institution, I'm done, at least for now. I cannot help but think (no matter what 'box' I check) that my donations have been contributing, not to the good of the system, but to the bad--having functioned largely to justify continued practices as those mentioned above. To continue tuition hikes like these, seemingly in a vacuum, is not right. The Regents are not an island, but they sure act like one.

You have to love this The University of California is planning to offer legal services at six campuses to students who are living in the U.S. illegally or have parents who might be eligible for deportation relief under President Barack Obama’s new immigration order, UC President Janet Napolitano announced Friday.
