This struck me as a very funny sign. You won't see it again for a long time. I can definitely appreciate the merchants' dilemma, especially those near the El Camino intersection who have to live with this weird anomaly, but nonetheless a "U-turn Only" sign is not something you will see on the Avenew again.

One additional point. While I was walking up the avenue today, I have to say the sidewalks on the south side were pristine. Not a spill, butt, dropping, discoloration or any other unsightly bit. Just perfect. Did the monthly cleaning just happen?

Bi-weekly cleaning happened last Wednesday night. Glad to see it is holding up so well!

The block between Park and Primrose is still missing from Googlemaps. Actually it's shown as under construction or "planned". They haven't caught up that the contractor has moved on past Primrose.
The sidewalks do look nice. We should enjoy it in all their new glory. Because between now and the upcoming ribbon cutting is when they'll look their absolute best.

The space for Runners Mind has come up for lease on Craigslist. There is even a picture of the store with the space description from the agent. Whether they're closing up for good or shifting to another space, i don't know. Construction was probably not a factor, since that location is not near it.

From the city newsletter:
Increased Cleaning of Burlingame Avenue Sidewalk
Since the opening of the 1200 and 1300 blocks of Burlingame Avenue there has been an increased awareness of the need to keep the newly installed sidewalk pavers clean. City Council has directed staff to increase the frequency of maintenance to address spillage of food, drinks and litter that appear on the new sidewalk pavers. As a result, power washing of the sidewalk pavers in the 1200, 1300 and 1400 blocks has been increased to bi-weekly basis. In addition, spot cleaning will be performed as needed between scheduled cleanings. Further, staff is working cooperatively with the downtown merchants to seek assistance in keeping their sidewalk frontages clean. The City appreciates your everyone’s effort in keeping our downtown beautiful.

What about the pavers on the street? They need attention, too.
