Last Thursday's tech problems at TypePad were just the start! They noted that:

Beginning Thursday evening, Typepad was hit with a distributed denial of service (DDoS) off and on through today.

Then Monday morning the worse attack started:

We're sorry to inform you that Typepad was attacked again overnight. Our team has been working around the clock to restore service. While most blogs are available and the application is up, some mapped domains are showing a message that the domain is "unknown", but there is no problem with the domain itself.

The Voice appears to have come back up just recently, but we may have to wait to originate new posts since the author login function is not up yet. Thanks for all the cards and letters asking what was going on. Some of you appear to have had as bad a case of Voice Withdrawal as we did!

There are still a few wrinkles for Typepad to iron out, but we are getting back to normal. One fun comment landed in the spam folder and I couldn't figure out how to get it to publish, so I will just paste it here....thanks, JROC

I broke out in a rash, had breathing problems and palpitations. All better now.
