The Daily Journal is staying abreast of the updates in the fire merger effort. Here's the latest on the management and station front and a nice photo of the chief, too:
Last summer, all four cities gave the go-ahead to continue exploring shared administrative services. One of the first steps was creating a temporary station, which is expected to open this summer. Under the proposal, stations on Hillside Drive in Burlingame and Crestview Drive in Millbrae would be closed. A new station would then be placed somewhere within the three-mile distance between the two stations. The temporary station would run for about a year which would allow staff to collect data to be shared with the city councils in May 2013, at which point further consolidation could be considered.
I've been wondering where in Cuernavaca Park this temporary station will go, but haven't had a chance to follow up yet.
I think the temp Fire Station was just completed, at Curnavca.

I love a good debate..
However, is there not one single tax paying citizen that can sign off on this gross misuse of taxpayer dollars?
1. How many homes fires,, business districts, plane crashes did this Fire Dept respond to in 33 years?
2. 33 years?
I am not sure what this Chief will be receiving as a pension from the taxpayers, but I would sure like to know.
The City of Millbrae should be right up there with Bell, CA regarding gross misuse of public funds. As well as the lack of oversite by City of Millbrae elected officals. 33 years.
It is no secret that oversite has been lacking for years.
