When I listed the major summer events in Burlingame, I did not know that summer would start in earnest just in time for Art in the Park. I was working the High Speed Rail table this afternoon and fully expected the wind to come up around 4pm like it usually does, but it stayed beautiful til the end. The crowd stayed until the end as well. My unscientific survey of a few vendors rendered a split opinion on whether business was up or down. Some thought it was way up, some thought it was down. These kids thought both!
The traffic for the artists and vendors was good too
Next up is the Burlingame Criterium bicycle race on June 27th. See you there!
This years event was the worst ever.
It was fun to see friends and neighbors.
The Park looks great. The vendors had nothing new or special to show.
I went both days and was struck by the lack of attendance.
This event has been co-opted by a private promotion company.
The City of Burlingame has very little to do with it.
However, everybody believes The City of Burlingame supports this event in every way.
Not good.
Lots of non profits were there with great messages.
That was what I enjoyed the most.
Art in the Park used to be special..
No more.
King Mountain@ Labor Day is awesome.
The event that happens on Burlingame Ave is great too.

I was told that jumping booth cost $20.00 per person.
True or not?

No amount of jumping is worth $20.
I bet the event would be better attended if they didn't host it the same weekend as the San Mateo County Fair. That's where we ended up last weekend.

Tickets for the jumping ride were $8 and my kids couldn't get enough of it. It was a nice addition to the fair.
