Cool! It'll be nice to have a couple of inexpensive food options on (near) Burlingame Ave. There are some right now, but not enough. I'm sure the high school kids in Burlingame will be excited about this. (And I am too!)

I LOVE pizza my heart, but could do w/o the chipotle.

Elizabeth

Love both of them..Hope the rumor is true!

Jeff

Both Pizza of My Heart & Chipotle have their fans. Certainly these two restaurants are better than vacant space!

I have also noticed a change of ownership notice in the window of Nectar Wine Lounge. Anyone know anything about that?

We spoke to someone at Nectar today. They are closing their Burlingame restaurant July 1st. Moving in.., the San Francisco Soup Company...

JF

Say it ain't so, Nectar. I liked the interior of that place and the staff was always nice. San Francisco Soup Company? How exciting is soup? I hope more SF restauranteurs will make B-game their home.

Where is the old WF building? I think Chipotle is a great idea. It'd be great to get a German beer garden like the one in RC too.

Burlingamer against Boondoggles

It is the defunct bank structure that was most recently Atherton Appliance on Primrose, just next to the old Walgreens and the large oak tree.

The structure, a sleek modern structure from the late 1950s will be rehabilitated and made into several smaller stores (I think six?) So I guess Chipotle will be one of those.

The good news is that since there will be a public park just steps away on the roof of a new structure that Safeway will build on the corner at Howard Ave., maybe folks can wander over and up the stairs to enjoy their meals there (though I guess a 'no go' on the beer garden part!) We missed our chance with the Garden Center- now that would have made a FABULOUS beer garden. Oh well.

Jennifer

Nectar is a wonderful place, great 'happening' atmosphere. Maybe too pricey for the current economy, but it seems with few exceptions, the bill usually ends up relatively the same, regardless of where we eat.

Understand that Goldmedal martial arts building on Howard may be exiting Burlingame already and a NY Deli company is looking to takeover the space. Cool
