John Horgan looks back to the medium old days at the theatre site:

THE FROG POND With the quiet demise of Burlingame's last movie house, the Hyatt Cinema, it's worth noting that, years ago, another establishment in the same building on the Bayshore Highway had a very short shelf life.

The Frog Pond was a one-time spa that featured a variety of aquatic amenities, including Jacuzzi baths, hot tubs, etc. But it had one major drawback, if memory serves.

The distinct aroma of chlorine was overwhelming. It was like being in a sweaty, steaming laundry. Needless to say, the place didn't last long.

A bucket of bleach, anyone?
