Dear Editor: [An open letter to the city of Burlingame] I am so frustrated with your parking meters. They only work intermittently. Recently, I had to move my car two times before finding a meter that registered the money I deposited. These aren't slot machines: they are parking meters and should register payment. Please maintain these better so as to not cause drivers parking frustration. This has happened to me sufficient times for me to write this letter of complaint. One time I didn't move my car after the meter failed to register the money. I received a parking ticket. I tried to fight this and my "excuse" was evaluated and denied. Now I simply move my car each time I encounter this problem. Please maintain your meters, Burlingame. Dianne, San Carlos

I'll bet Dianne did not report any of the broken meters when they happened. What happened to putting a note on the meter saying it's broken. There are a lot of meters in town and they break. That's life.
