Does anyone know if the "do nothing" option...which would have Jean Holbrook take over...means that Johnson would automatically be fired? In other words, would she step in to take over his job or would she jsut act as an "advisor" to him? What happened in Oakland? Weren't they taken over by the state? It seems to me that, given what she's previuosly said -- about insisting that 3.5 million is cute -- we would just be substituting the firing authority, so that Jean would fire the teachers, rather than Sam. Seems to me, that both Sam and the union ought to be meeting with her to renegotiate her 3.5 million figure....not have her take over.

My understanding from representatives statements is that the teachers union, the classified staff union and I believe the district administration are in contact/negotiations with Jean Holbrook. I haven't heard of any changes on that front though
