Too bad the hoagies are mediocre at best.

I can attest to the goodness of this homestyle joint. It's got a great selection of philly cheesteak--my favorite is the bacon, chicken cheesesteak--and it's got a quaint atmosphere with vintage ads on decorating the wall. As mentioned in the original post it's reasonably priced. The downside is that now that the word is out it's gonna get crowded!Nice people runnin' the place too!

wjones: too bad your column is so mediocre in the SM Times. And you take quite a bit of vacation too. I think Mary's column is far more interesting than yours anyday of the week.

I'm not following you, Jason. Who's column are you talking about?
Good Philly cheesesteaks would seem to be easy, but I can count the number of good ones I've had elsewhere than Philly on one hand. Looking forward to trying the local version.

Yes-- the service is great, I love having philly cheesesteaks in burlingame (less than a block away!), and the food is great as far as I'm concerned. They have an online menu for those quick takeout meals: http://www.phillyscheesesteakshop.com/menu.html
