I liked Dan Andersen's opinion that changes around the train station should be considered with the big picture in mind of a Centennial Plaza. Another resident had the idea that we should try and encourage more young people to these meetings rather than the usual "old" suspects! Of course the city SHOULD provide information on meetings spaces for community groups with information on seating capacity, price, audio/video, stage, etc. on their website. I would like to see the Rec. Center stage adapted so the doors are bigger and can be adapted to a real stage with a dance studio in the back. This is not rocket science and a small remodel would not break the bank.
They will be updating the matrix of goals which will be available by emailing Doris at [email protected].

Yes, good comments about the recreation stage, which was cut in half. I'm also glad Dan brought up the plaza, and how it relates to the changes proposed by Caltrain. I hope this is not handled in the usual bureaucratic manner, where each entity only looks at what they are working on, without regard to how it fits with another agencies future plans.
I am disappointed that the changes proposed at the station, will undoubtedly further degrade the historic Burlingame Square. These should be re-examined by our council before simply rubber-stamping Caltrains' plans. There may be more than one way to skin a cat (I love cats.)
