The council agreed to use parking fund money to finance a $59,000 downtown economic study. The study will help the city determine the future economic viability of downtown between Oak Grove and Peninsula avenues. It will examine the possible relocation of Auto Row, expanding downtown to Donnelly and Howard avenues and mixed-use alternatives for the Safeway site at Howard Avenue and El Camino Real. It will also address required landscaping changes and parking needs.
