The papers seem to be talking about whether or not the Terminator should have waited for June of next year to line up with the regular election, but nobody cares about June elections around here. The November election is the important one, so if we want to get a bigger vote on the issues Arnold has put forth, then November is the time to do it.

The additional ballot measures will have a two-fold effect. One, it will mobilize the constituencies that will be impacted by these measures to increase voter turnout. Meaning, many teachers will be phoning around the state trying to encourage folks to vote against several of the measures. Whichever candidate can capture that support may do well. Secondly, it will increase the overal number of available votes, which works to the benefit of non-incumbents as many occasional voters may be willing to experiement a bot more than the traditional bases of know commodities.
