Fiona, you have memory like an elephant so coming up with a #27 is quite a challenge. I'm going to submit the efforts of BCE and the fundraisers at BIS, BHS and the elementary schools. The Kitchen Tour continues to draw people in, the Chili Cook-off, the Halloween House, and the Renaissance Faire and Wine Auction brought in substantial funds in '04. If one wonders about #23 (housing prices) a big part of that is the fact that buyers know Burlingamers are serious about our schools and put their money where their mouths are. Let's not forget Measure S' passage either.

I think #27 is obvious, but it just has not happened quite yet. Getting rid of Jerry Fuchs once and for all from this county is the feather in the years cap. He will not be missed on e little bit and a lot of people will be better off from it.

Me thinks that a lot of people are going to enjoy Jerry Fuchs "retirement."
Who will his regular pipeline ratfinks turn to? Is there any reporter out there who will only listen to one side of an issue and give their own biased opinion? Pray tell people like this have gone out of style like the leisure suit.

I think the old syle cronyism has hopefully gone out of style - even in Burlingame politics. I respect our reporters like Christine and Dwana.
The 2005 elections will soon be upon us which always brings out the worst - remember all the muckraking/garbage of yesteryear. Eeeeewwie!

Good one. Jerry Fuchs, the leisure suit of the chattering class in San Mateo County. Come on, Justin...you have to use that one.

In my opinion Fuch's column was like a car wreck. You didn't really want to look at it, but felt compelled to, and then regretted the fact that you did.
Comforting to know that there will be less wrecks in the newspapers in 2005.
