As usual, most of these people are totally clueless about this project and what kind of bum deal it was for this city and its residents. Go read the Planning Commission comments, people! These individuals know what they are talking about. The plan has been unchanged since April '03, when they voted 6-1 against it, and then reaffirmed their decision just a couple of months ago.
If people bothered to spend any time researching the facts for themselves, they wouldn't be writing these ridiculous statements.
Actually, I think Safeway likes it that way. Tell people just what they want to hear, but not a word more. The irony is that nobody cared that much about the state of the store, until Safeway itself focused on it. As I wrote to the Council a few days ago, Safeway could benefit from a fresh coat of paint, and a few street trees and flowers. I'm sure the Beautification Commission has some wonderful, inexpensive ideas... but that wouldn't help their cause., I guess.

I am most angry because we were lied to during the recent campaign. Would this elected official, that lied, be willing to give up the benefits he will receive from the town he is trying to ruin.........
