The City of Burlingame ought to consider selling bars of soap to those poor souls who choose to walk down El Camino during a rain storm.
This would be a terrific idea, especially for folks who don't mind taking a shower in public.
If you've never had the pleasure of strolling down the former tree-lined boulevard, you ought to do so! But keep in mind that cars, buses and trucks motoring up and down El Camino tend to send copious quantities of water in a wave of Maverick proportions, cascading onto pedestrians who will find themselves more wet than the Burlingame Panthers' swim team.
It's a wonderful public service, having the road so uneven in some places that a lot of water wells up during the rains. In other areas, it's simply a matter of the sewers not draining rapidly enough. Whatever the situation, though, El Camino affords, for example, the fitness-minded jogger the opportunity to not only get in a good work-out, but they can bathe? in the process!
This is a wonderful time saver not to mention it's cost-effective.
