Interesting piece in Fuchs' "Nobody" column (January 3) which is absolutely mystifying! Mystery # 1 - who are the "county folks offering mea culpas to former councilmember Mary Janney"? and Mystery # 2 - who is "pushing her to make a comeback" and a rerun?
Could this be fact, fiction or another Fuchs fable? We all want to know?

The funnier thing is how out of date Mr. Fuchs is. He is still refering to Janney as the little lady from Burlingame Hills, but she moved out of the Hills to a downtown condo a couple of years ago. Rumor has it she doesn't drive anymore and it was too inconvenient for everyone to be chauffeuring her up and down the hill. This is similar to her campaign problem. It's strenuous work and all of the county folks are only willing to do so much.
