I had always thought, for some reason, that Mr. Galligan was supporting Mary Janney and Mike Coffey, but in this letter suggests "IF YOU WANT CHANGE, VOTE PRENDIVILLE AND ANDERSEN."
Councilman Galligan notes Mr. Andersen "Has been to more council meetings and study sessions than the rest of the other challengers combined. His comments at those meetings are never attacking; they are constructive and show that he has done his homework."

Galligan gets more and more bizarre - perhaps he is seeing the writing on the wall. Mr. Anderson is very knowledgeable about alot of issues and a viable candidate but this latest bit of Galligan nonsense about power meetings is so odd. Perhaps its more about clutching at straws and losing ones marbles!

Finally Mr. G comes to his senses and tries to change horses near the finish line.
Well not exactly. More like a rather transparent ploy to sway the disaffected from voting for front runners Cohen Nagel. All in the hopes of getting the MM's back in be default.

I, too, was kind of surprised reading this in the paper...I had to have a cup of espresso to be sure I was not "seeing things, " (being a few marbles shy of a full complement myself).

You have to laugh at these guys. Bud Harrison and Vic Mangini write letters screaming about using current and past city employees on the challengers' endorsment lists. They forgot to look at their own from the past where they had several current and past employees on theirs!
Then we get Joe bleating about secret meetings and power grabs. The only problem is that Bud Harrison and Joe's cohorts have been having secret meetings for years hand picking candidates, Joe and MM among of them.
Somehow if anyone should even suggest that a group of citizens get together to discuss how to break the current power structure, they are somehow engaging in a "power grab".
He's so inept that he tries to undermine the challengers but instead he makes it look like he has abandoned MM!

You had to really enjoy John Horgan's column in the San Mateo Times. It's headline is Son of Cruz and he compares Gilligan to Cruz Bustamante's "no on recall/yes on me" ploy. I think we should call Gilligan, "Cruz Gilligante" from now on.
