Regarding the above "Down size your Ambitions."
Please contact City of Burlingame Director of Recreation & Parks regarding the cost of installation of the Christmas Tree lights at City Hall.
Jim Skeels.. 650-5887330.
Or, City of Brisbane- City Hall.
Manpower, equipment, and hours spent,(City of Burlingame Park Dept and Facilities Employees)
$15,000.00-$20,000.00. Installing lights on a tree. What is the benefit?
If verifacation regarding these figures is needed, please contact Jerry Deal, Jesus Nava, or Robert Disco.
The removal of the lights and ornaments will also be in the $15,000.00- $20,000.00 range.
Why do we let this happen?
The lunitics are in charge of the asylum!
They are spending our tax dollars for their political gain.
Merry Christmas-Guess What.
The City of Burlingame Elders" spent $30,000.00-$40,000.00 dollars of our money for putting lights on, and taking them off a tree.
What is the upside, benefit to the City of Burlingame?
How about putting that money into repairing the broken sidewalk in front of our homes.
This really speaks to a Federal investagation regarding who lets this ridiculous spending of tax payer funds.

I completely agree that the costs appear to be way too high for such a thing. I don't have a problem with hanging some festive lights around the two shopping districts if the cost is about a 10-20% of that. -- It's a couple or three workers working a couple days to put them up and a day to take them down. But the costs you mention are so high that it makes me think that something may actually be corrupt.
What is wrong with the people who are governing our city?

I truly believe the City Elders have The City of Burlingames best interset at heart.
However the use of City of Burlingame public resources/funds for a project like this(Christmas Tree Decoration) is STUPID.
People showed up for the lighting-spent 1-2 hours at the site.
Left and never came back.
STUPID!
The City of Burlingame Elders could have put the 3-5 homeless people living behind Safeway, Wallgreens, and that Culinary store that does not EVER have any business, in the downtown hotel at Burlingame Ave & Lorten for one year!
I hope after this last election someone will step up and say, "lets do the right thing."
Getting rid of O'Mahoney was the first step.
I am afraid Kerrigan will fall into a void that has never been seen in this City before.
Stepping Stone. Nothing wrong with that.
But say it!
Maybe next year we can fill the pot holes on Burlingame Ave-ECR to California.
Not light the Christmas next year and repair tree damaged sidewalks, and help put the growing nuber of homeless,(living in every city park, and parking alcove find peace."
That Tree Lighting is a disgrace.
