Plenty of Burlingame locals have noticed that certain streets are looking a little worn out. The black tar used to fill in cracks gets some people especially worked up. But help is on the way for some streets. Here is a list of streets that are scheduled to be repaved in 2009 courtesy of the Burlingame Public Works department
Drake Ave.
Cabrillo Ave.
Almer Rd.
Bernal Ave from Hillside to Adeline
Capuchino Ave.
Cortez Dr. from Easton to Adeline
Crossway Rd.
East Ln.
Edgehill Dr.
Howard Ave from Humboldt to California
Neuchatel Ave.
Occidental Ave.
Palm Dr.
Park Rd.
Pepper Ave.
Stanley Rd.
Did you win the asphalt lottery?
What about Burlingame Ave?
Burlingame Ave and Broadway are the "showcase" avenues of our City.
Broadway is Great!
Burlingame Ave.(the showcase of our town) is a dirt road.
How do we expect to bring business to this town if we can not maintain the only street in the City that brings people to it?
I hate to point out the obvious.
But folks, on this site, we have to address this oversite by our City Elders.

I though we had a budget crisis. I would guess re-paving those streets cost over a million and some of those sreets (including my street) did NOT NEED re-paving

Why are those streets being repaved?
They do not need work, as mike stated above.
Why is that VERY expensive work being done?
What about Burlingame Ave?
We do have a crisis, however it is lack of leadership at City Hall.
Not so much the Council, the Manager-Jim Nantell. Who by the way is on his way out... So why make waves?

The City just sent out the list of streets that will get new asphalt this summer. Over the next week and a half expect to see Rollins, Carolan, Oak Grove and Magnolia get partial or completely resurfaced.
