You can contact the current Beautification Commission for an answer, or to give them the idea.

They're at www.burlingame.org.

What happened to the reforestation project that was supposed to happen? (Easton)
I guess it was not an election year..
I learned last week that a 100 year old- plus Elm tree will be removed this month in Washington Park.
Also, slated for 2009, 3 Monteray Pine trees will be removed as well.
What happened to the trees planted by the Park Dept. @ the candy store at Howard/Lorton.
Why can the City of Burlingame Park Dept not take care of our trees?

Holy Roller. I have not attended any Beautification Commission meetings lately. Have there been any discussions about the reforestation plan at those meetings?

Maybe the plan will continue during the upcoming planting season in October?

When will Tim Richmond reveal the plans for the $275,00.00 grant for tree planting be made public?
If Tim Richmond can not let "us" know, please contact his temp. replacement.

Holy Roler - Tim Richmond RETIRED and does not need to tell you his plans for the $275,000 as he is no longer employeed with the City. He is finishing up on one project and he will be gone. The 100 year old elm tree that is scheduled to be removed keeps dropping HUGE branches with just the slightest winds coming up and is a DANGER to residents. I know, you would rather see someone killed prior to seeing the tree removed but please tell the facts..

Mr. Richmond has retired.
He is staying on as a consultant until a replacement is hired.
A replacement has been hired, but not committed to anything.
Weird.
Betty, have you ever heard of a "golden parachute?"
That is when a retired employee is/has retired. Now rehired as a "consultant."

Many City of Burlingame upper management have been retained as "consultants" after retirement.
In every single department.
I can give you names, and departments
My experience in the private sector see this as a benefit.
However, in public service this is just wrong.
Ethics?

I do not want anyone to be harmed by a tree that is falling apart.
So, if that is the case, why is that tree still standing?
Or barricades keeping the public away from the tree?

Holy Roller

I was wondering what the Park Dept is going to do with the remains of "Tom the Tree?"
I see the remains have been stored at Washington Park since Tom was removed.
I thought it was going to be part of the Burlingame 100 year celabration.
Does anyone know what is happening with that giant chunk of wood?
