I'm curious though about the SWAT team I saw on Bellevue Ave yesterday (a few buildings east of the library) around 6pm.

Do anyone know what was going on with that? The guys were dressed in full SWAT gear and carrying M4A1 assault rifles.

About 6:25 the street was re-opened and the SWAT guys were gathered in the parking lot behind the Comcast(?) building on the corner of Bellevue and California.

I saw them walking into City Hall and never saw where they went after that. I then saw them by the Library, blocking the street off. I asked a police office what was going on and he said nothing and told me to just move along..I was thinking it was a practice drill of some kind..

The San Mateo Daily Journal article said that the police executed a search warrant on Bellevue at around 5:45...that's probably would you both saw. Go to www.smdailyjournal.com

Update:

Millbrae murder mystery
By Dana Yates (Daily Journal)

Police are searching for a man connected to a murder of a 27-year-old Millbrae resident whose body was discovered early Thursday in Burlingame.

Jack Chu, 27, of Millbrae, was identified by the San Mateo County Coroner's Office as the person found dead.

The two-city murder mystery began to unravel when Burlingame police were called to investigate a dead body in a white car at the intersection of Chula Vista and Sanchez avenues shortly after 9 a.m. yesterday. The car police found contained a bloody, dead body and the car matched the description of a car seen at a shooting Wednesday morning in Millbrae.

At 3:41 a.m. Wednesday, police and paramedics were called to investigate reports of a shooting at Lincoln Circle in Millbrae. Witnesses reported hearing gunfire and seeing a person being pushed into a white car. A county-wide broadcast to police was issued to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

The car was likely dropped off in the quiet residential neighborhood early Thursday morning.

By 5:40 p.m. Thursday, police were executing a search warrant at an apartment at 1224 Bellevue Ave. in Burlingame.

The apartment is reportedly occupied by the mother of the man last seen with Chu. That man is reportedly a Reno, Nev. resident.

A neighbor said the woman was staying at the apartment with one man who appeared to be her son. That man left in January and another man, presumed to be another son, began living there.

Police were seen removing multiple bags of evidence from the apartment and towed an older model Volvo 240 DL. The car did not appear to have been moved in months or years.

This case is interesting and it's going to take some time to figure out,? said Millbrae police inspector Lou Landini.

Multiple calls to the Millbrae Police Department were not returned.

Jon Mays contributed to this report.

Jack has been a friend of mine since I was 13 (12 years)... RIP to a dear friend who will forever be missed. If anyone knows anything, please contact the PD. No one deserves to go like this.

No News coverage

I am very shocked that in did NOT make the local news .. people living a few blocks away do NOT even know what happened .. the police keep these things hush hush to make Burlingame look good because it is a very high end town .. but keeping this news from the community (by not showing it on the news) is not fair.

After talking to the policeman at the roadblock I went on the city website to see if there was any information for the neighbors. There was not a later news release on the city website nor on crimereports and there is nothing on either one today.

The police blotters in our local newspapers do not seem to give us the full picture about what goes on in Burlingame.

Holy Roller

If anyone cares to research the reason these horrible crimes that happen in our town it will take some effort.
Ask the PD about an x-park dept employee attacking a BHS student with a knife in Washington Park.
Remember the COB employee that was arested and incarisrates for child porn at City Hall.
What about the BPD cop that was arrested reciving steriods from Romania.
We are all human.. we all deal with life the best we can.
This is just a small insight into the people who serve us in every aspect of recieving basic services that make this town a good place to live.
