"An email to this desk has indicated that, after many months of off-and-on progress on the refurbishing of a floating restaurant on the Burlingame bayfront, The Sherman is scheduled to open for business before the end of the year.
There have been several false starts in this regard in 2007. A summer debut had been planned, but that fell through as the renovation persisted.
The eatery, once known as The Showboat as well as The Pattaya Princess, has been unused for years. The craft is berthed at the entrance to the Anza Lagoon on Airport Boulevard.
It has its own Web site, www.theshermanrestaurant.com

This was received from the Sherman about a more precise date than "before the end of the year":
We will be open for lunch, but probably not until the first week of December.
Feel free to come by for dinner starting on November 16th...we hope!
